What We Do

Our Mission

Bayside Christian Church is a neighborhood church affiliated with the United Church of Christ, serving the Chesapeake Beach community of Virginia Beach.

We believe the church is here to serve the community and seek to improve the quality of life of those around us.

We wish to include those who may be short-term residents as participants in our caring ministries. In this way, we offer prayer, understanding and personal presence.

We offer support in practical ways with the assurance that we represent the spirit of compassion shown to us in Christ, who came that we may have life, and have it more abundantly!

As the needs of those in our fellowship become known to us, we reach out – spiritually, emotionally and practically.

Community Outreach

Bayside Christian Church is active in engaging our community.

We serve those in need through our Little Free Food Pantry, available 24/7. Take what you need, leave what you can!

We make the church facilities available to serve the community.
– Weekly AA meeting
– We are a sponsor of the Chesapeake Beach Civic League
– We are a meeting place for Family & Community celebrations

We provide ministry to those who suffer the effects of economic crisis, family dislocation and natural disasters.

We support local missions projects. We have collected winter coats for the homeless, collect pennies for prescriptions (in partnership with Virginia Beach Social Services), and are providing books for a library for a local hospice.

In these and other ways we strive to express God’s love with our resources.
